ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on finding a better way to identify biliary atresia (BA) in infants who have cholestasis, a condition where bile flow is blocked and can lead to liver damage. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial for improving the chances of survival and health outcomes for babies with BA. The researchers are creating and testing a scoring system that can help doctors quickly determine if a baby has BA or another condition causing cholestasis.
To participate in this study, infants must be diagnosed with neonatal cholestasis and be less than 90 days old at their first visit. However, babies with serious congenital (born with) malformations or incomplete medical information will not be included. If your child qualifies and you choose to participate, you can expect to help researchers improve the understanding and treatment of this condition, which could lead to better care for future patients.
