ClinConnect Summary
The Tongji-Ezhou Study is a long-term research project aimed at understanding how various factors affect chronic diseases like diabetes, obesity, and heart problems. Launched in 2013 in Ezhou city, Hubei province, the study plans to enroll 10,000 participants and follow them for at least 20 years. Researchers will collect blood samples from around 6,000 participants every 3 to 5 years to look for important nutritional markers that can help identify risks for these diseases.
To be eligible for the study, participants must be at least 20 years old, have lived in Ezhou for at least 9 months, and provide written consent to join. However, individuals undergoing cancer treatment or with serious health conditions may not qualify. Participants can expect regular follow-ups and the opportunity to contribute valuable information that could help improve health outcomes for many people. This study is currently recruiting participants of all genders, so if you or someone you know is interested, it could be a great chance to help advance our understanding of these health issues.
