ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how effective different treatments are for children and adolescents aged 7 to 14 who have temporomandibular disorders (TMD), which includes pain in the jaw and face. The researchers want to find out if treatments commonly used for adults, like special mouth guards (called occlusal appliances), jaw exercises, and anti-inflammatory medications (like NSAIDs), work well for younger patients. They are particularly interested in understanding whether these treatments help relieve pain and if they might cause any problems with jaw growth.
To participate in the study, children need to have a specific type of jaw pain that has been measured as moderate to severe on a pain scale. They will not be able to join if they have certain other health conditions, like severe joint or muscle diseases. If eligible, participants can expect to receive one or more of the treatments being tested and will be monitored closely for any changes in their pain and overall jaw function. This research aims to provide valuable information about how to better treat TMD in young patients.
