ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how strong the muscles that help us breathe are in people who have a condition called Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome (OHS) or are at risk for developing it. The researchers want to find out what factors might lead to OHS and how to identify patients who may experience breathing problems while sleeping due to this condition.
To participate in the trial, individuals need to be between 18 and 80 years old, have a body mass index (BMI) over 30, and either have different stages of OHS or a higher risk for it. Unfortunately, people with certain other medical conditions like severe heart issues or those who cannot give their consent will not be eligible. If you join the study, you will undergo various tests to measure your breathing muscle strength. This research is important because it may help in finding better ways to treat and manage OHS in the future.
