ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new imaging technique called cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) to see how well it works compared to another type of scan called dual energy CT after a procedure called thrombectomy. Thrombectomy is a treatment for stroke that removes blood clots from the brain. After this procedure, it can be hard to tell if certain changes seen in scans are due to bleeding or just the contrast dye used during imaging. By comparing these two types of scans, researchers hope to find out which one gives clearer information for doctors to help their patients.
To participate in the trial, patients need to be adults who have had a cerebral thrombectomy and can give their consent. They also need to be covered by national health insurance. Unfortunately, minors, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, and those who cannot make decisions for themselves are not eligible. If chosen to participate, patients will undergo both imaging tests to help improve how doctors diagnose and treat complications from stroke. It’s a chance to contribute to important research that could benefit future patients facing similar challenges.
