ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying different surgical options for patients with severe rotator cuff tears that cannot be repaired. The main purpose is to look at how well people recover after surgery and to identify any complications that may arise. The research will also explore what factors might affect the success of these surgeries. This trial is currently recruiting participants aged 65 to 74, regardless of gender, who have massive or irreparable rotator cuff tears. To qualify, participants must have tears involving two or more tendons and show significant fatty changes in a specific muscle.
If you choose to participate, you can expect to undergo one of several surgical treatments and then be monitored for your recovery progress. The trial aims to better understand the best approaches to help people with these challenging injuries, ultimately improving outcomes for future patients. It’s important to note that individuals under 18 years old, those who are incarcerated, military personnel, or non-English speakers are not eligible to join this study.
