ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how a short-term treatment with intravenous iron isomaltose anhydride can help improve recovery after orthopedic surgery for patients suffering from iron deficiency anemia (IDA). The goal is to see if this treatment can reduce the need for blood transfusions after surgery, making recovery easier and more effective for patients.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be at least 15 years old and willing to sign a consent form to join. However, those who are pregnant, have a history of severe allergic reactions to iron, or have certain medical conditions affecting their nervous system will not be able to participate. The study hasn't started recruiting participants yet, but once it does, those who join will receive the iron treatment and will be monitored to see how well it helps them recover after their surgery.
