ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how blood transfusions affect patients who are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The goal is to understand the risks and benefits of blood transfusions and how they relate to patients' recovery and overall health. Researchers will look at how transfusion practices can impact complications and even the chances of survival for patients. The findings from this study could help improve guidelines for when and how blood transfusions should be given, especially in critical situations.
To be eligible for this study, patients must have been admitted to the medical or surgical ICU at the university hospitals in Besançon or Dijon between January 1, 2012, and December 31, 2017. This trial welcomes all patients, regardless of their specific health conditions. Participants will be monitored during their time in the ICU and also after they leave the hospital to gather important information on their recovery. If you or a family member meet the criteria, being part of this study could contribute to better care for future patients who need blood transfusions.
