ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a specific type of epilepsy known as KCNQ2 gene-associated neonatal epileptic encephalopathy, which affects newborns and can cause seizures. The researchers want to understand the causes and factors that influence these seizures, aiming to improve how we identify and manage this condition. They hope to develop better ways to assess and provide care for babies experiencing these kinds of seizures, ultimately helping families understand and cope with the challenges that come with it.
To participate in this study, babies must be less than 28 days old and have experienced their first seizure during the neonatal period. Parents will need to give their consent for their child to take part. The trial is currently recruiting participants and welcomes infants of any gender. By joining the study, families can help contribute to important research that seeks to improve treatment and support for newborns dealing with this serious condition.
