ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying new, minimally invasive treatments for Zenker's diverticulum (ZD), a rare condition where a pouch forms in the throat, making it difficult to swallow. The trial is looking at two specific endoscopic techniques, called flexible endoscopic septum division (FESD) and per-oral endoscopic septotomy (POES). These methods aim to relieve symptoms without the need for major surgery. The researchers want to find out how safe these procedures are and how much they help with swallowing difficulties in patients.
To participate in the trial, you must be between 65 and 74 years old and have noticeable symptoms from Zenker's diverticulum that can be treated with one of the endoscopic methods. Unfortunately, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you won't be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to receive one of these endoscopic treatments and be monitored for any changes in your symptoms. This research aims to provide valuable information that could improve care for those affected by this condition in the future.
