Capsaicin Rhinitis

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a special nasal spray made from capsaicin, a natural substance found in hot peppers, to help relieve symptoms of rhinitis, which is inflammation in the nose that can cause sneezing, itchiness, and a runny nose. Many current treatments for rhinitis don’t work well or can’t be used for a long time, so researchers are looking to find a dose of this capsaicin spray that effectively reduces symptoms while minimizing discomfort, like burning sensations or tearing from the eyes.

To participate in this study, you need to be a healthy adult aged 18 years or older. Unfortunately, individuals who are pregnant, have had certain nasal surgeries, or are allergic to capsaicin cannot join. If you qualify and decide to participate, you will help researchers determine the safest and most effective dose of this spray for people dealing with rhinitis. The study is not yet recruiting, but it aims to provide new options for those struggling with their nasal symptoms.
