ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new, easy-to-use portable driving simulator designed to help people with Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, or those who have had a stroke improve their driving skills. The goal is to see if this simpler simulator is easier to use and causes less discomfort than more advanced driving simulators, which can sometimes make people feel sick. The researchers will compare how well participants do in driving tasks after training with either the portable simulator or a traditional, high-fidelity simulator.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be diagnosed with either Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, or have had a first-ever stroke, and they need to have a valid driver's license with at least three years of driving experience. Participants will first undergo a driving skills assessment, followed by five hours of training with one of the simulators, and then another assessment to see how much they've improved. The study is currently recruiting participants, and it’s a great opportunity for those looking to regain or enhance their driving abilities in a supportive environment.
