ClinConnect Summary
The "Men Moving Forward" trial is studying a lifestyle program designed specifically for African-American men who are survivors of prostate cancer. This program, which lasts four months, aims to help participants improve their health by following guidelines on nutrition and physical activity. It includes twice-weekly sessions that focus on eating more fruits and vegetables, getting regular exercise, and maintaining a healthy weight. The goal is to help participants feel better and improve their overall body composition.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be at least 18 years old, identify as Black or African American, and have been diagnosed with prostate cancer that has not spread to other parts of the body. They should have completed their cancer treatments at least six months ago and have a body mass index (BMI) over 25, which means they may be overweight. Participants should also be exercising less than the recommended amount and should be able to walk for five minutes without stopping due to pain or shortness of breath. If chosen to participate, men can expect to engage in a supportive community focused on healthier living.
