ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how tears from children might help us understand certain conditions related to multiple sclerosis (MS), specifically Clinically Isolated Syndrome (CIS) and Radiologically Isolated Syndrome (RIS). The goal is to see if analyzing these tears can provide valuable insights over time, helping doctors diagnose and monitor these conditions more effectively. The study is currently recruiting children under 18 years old, who either have had a recent episode of CIS or have been found to have brain lesions suggesting MS on an MRI scan, but are not showing symptoms.
To participate, children must have the agreement of their parents or guardians, and they should be covered by social security. Importantly, the study is not looking for children who have active MS or eye infections, or those on specific treatments that suppress the immune system. If eligible, participants will provide tear samples during the study, and their health will be monitored over time. This research could be a significant step in improving our understanding and diagnosis of these conditions in children.
