ClinConnect Summary

The Heart Failure-USB trial is a research study aimed at understanding what causes heart failure and how it gets worse over time. Researchers will look at patients who were hospitalized between 2010 and 2023 for serious heart issues, specifically acute coronary syndrome (a type of heart attack) and acute heart failure. The study will help identify which patients are at higher risk for developing heart failure and predict how their condition might change. Additionally, a smaller part of the study will examine the safety and effectiveness of a medication called digoxin for patients with heart failure caused by a fast heart rate.

To participate in this study, you need to be someone who was hospitalized with a primary diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome or with acute heart failure. Unfortunately, if you have previously stated that you do not want your medical information used for research, you would not be eligible to participate. If you join, you can expect to contribute to important research that could help improve the understanding and treatment of heart failure for others in the future.
