ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how patients with lower limb amputations can better navigate slopes and stairs using prosthetic limbs. It aims to improve prostheses, especially "intelligent" ones that adjust to different walking situations. The researchers want to understand how amputees anticipate their movements when facing these challenges, which can be tricky without the use of certain muscles that are missing. They will use advanced technology to track and analyze the way people move on slopes and stairs, with the ultimate goal of creating a smart sensor system that helps prosthetic users move more safely and easily.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be healthy adults or have a major lower limb amputation and have been using a prosthesis for at least three months. Eligible participants should be able to follow simple instructions. Those who cannot provide consent, are pregnant, or have other serious walking issues are not eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to help researchers learn more about how to improve prosthetic technology, which could lead to better mobility for many people in the future.
