ClinConnect Summary
The Filipino Family Health Initiative is a clinical trial aimed at helping Filipino parents in California improve their parenting skills. The study will involve 180 families, with half participating in a special online parenting program called the Incredible Years® School Age Training. This program teaches effective parenting techniques, while the other half will receive helpful handouts from the American Academy of Pediatrics and will be placed on a waiting list to join the program later.
To be eligible for this study, parents must be at least 18 years old and have a Filipino or Half-Filipino child aged 8 to 12 years. It's important to note that parents who plan to move out of California soon, those who do not speak English, or those with children who have significant developmental issues cannot participate. If you join the study, you can expect to learn valuable strategies for parenting, connect with other families, and contribute to research that may help improve family relations in the Filipino community.
