ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether patients who have a mastectomy can safely skip the use of drains after the surgery. Drains are tubes that help remove fluid from the body, but they can be uncomfortable and require extra visits to the doctor. Researchers want to find out if not using these drains leads to the same number of fluid collections, called seromas, and if it can help patients avoid complications related to wounds. By participating, women aged 18 and older who are having a mastectomy may experience a more comfortable recovery with fewer follow-up appointments.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be female and need a mastectomy. However, women who are having other types of breast surgeries, like breast-conserving therapy or certain reconstructions, cannot participate. If you join the study, you can expect to receive care without drains and be monitored for any potential complications. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it's a chance to help improve the experience for future patients undergoing similar surgeries.
