ClinConnect Summary
The Dyad Plus Effectiveness trial is studying a special program designed to help families work together to lose weight and lead healthier lives. This program focuses on encouraging families to communicate positively, solve problems together, and support each other in becoming more active and eating better. Families participating in the Brenner FIT program, which helps children and teenagers manage their weight, will also enroll with a parent or guardian who will take part in the By Design Essentials program.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be part of the Brenner FIT program or the By Design Essentials program, and at least one caregiver in the household should have a body mass index (BMI) over 30, indicating they are overweight or obese. Participants should be able to read and write in English and should not have any health issues that would prevent them from being active or changing their diet. Throughout the trial, families can expect to learn valuable skills to support each other in their weight loss journey while also improving their overall health and well-being.
