ClinConnect Summary
The Cardiometabolic Risk Factors Registry, also known as CARFARE, is a research study aimed at understanding and assessing various health risks related to heart and metabolic conditions, such as atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), obesity, diabetes, and other cardiovascular diseases. This study is being conducted at the Austral University Hospital as part of a program to prevent heart problems before they occur. Participants will undergo several tests to measure their weight, blood pressure, heart health, and other important factors that can affect their cardiovascular health.
To join this study, you need to be over 18 years old and generally healthy. However, people who have had a heart attack or stroke, those with severe kidney disease, or individuals with certain types of cancer are not eligible. If you participate, you can expect to have a thorough evaluation that includes tests like an electrocardiogram (which checks heart rhythm), blood tests, and imaging studies to examine your blood vessels. This registry aims to gather valuable information that could help improve care for individuals at risk of heart-related health issues.
