ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called PAW (Pain and Weight Treatment), is looking at how treating pain can help teenagers who are struggling with obesity. Many young people find it hard to stick to weight management programs, and those who do often go back to unhealthy habits. By focusing on pain, which is common in kids with obesity, the study aims to see if addressing this issue can improve their chances of success in managing their weight.
To participate in this trial, teens aged 12 to 18 who can read and write in English and are enrolled in a weight management program may be eligible. They also need to have a score above 3 on a specific pain assessment, indicating that they experience significant pain. Participants will receive support during the study, and their experiences could lead to better treatment options for families dealing with pediatric obesity. It's important to note that certain conditions, such as severe mental health issues or specific medical problems, may exclude someone from participating.
