ClinConnect Summary
This is an observational study that looks at real-world outcomes of endovascular procedures (minimally invasive work inside the blood vessels) done in an office-based setting called an angiosuite. Researchers want to learn about safety and short-term outcomes, such as where patients go after the procedure (home, hospital, ICU, or emergency department) and any complications within 24 hours. The goal is to gather information that could guide future research and, later, help compare office-based care with hospital-based care.
Who might be eligible? Adults 18 years and older who have conditions like peripheral arterial disease, chronic venous insufficiency, dialysis access problems, malfunctions of arteriovenous fistulas, varicose veins, vertebrobasilar insufficiency, or thoracic outlet syndrome, and who have procedures done as outpatients in an office-based angiosuite by board-certified vascular surgeons in California or Texas. The study plans to enroll about 300 participants and is currently enrolling by invitation; results have not yet been published. The listed site is Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, sponsored by Methodist Health System, with Dr. Sam S Ahn, MD as the principal investigator.
