ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "CNS Changes Following Stroke," is studying how the brain and spinal cord change after a stroke and how these changes relate to a person's recovery. Researchers want to learn more about both the physical structure of the brain and how it functions. They will compare stroke patients to healthy individuals to identify specific brain markers that might help predict how well a patient will recover. By using advanced imaging techniques, the study aims to understand how the brain adapts or changes after a stroke, which can help improve treatment and rehabilitation strategies.
To participate in this study, patients must be between 18 to 80 years old, have had a stroke for more than three months, and provide signed consent. Healthy individuals within the same age range are also welcome to join. Participants can expect to undergo various tests, including brain scans and assessments of how they move and feel, to gather important information about their condition. It’s important to note that individuals with certain medical conditions, those who are pregnant, or those with extreme anxiety about being in an MRI machine may not be eligible. The goal of this trial is to enhance our understanding of recovery after stroke, which could lead to better care for patients in the future.
