ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new method called magnetically controlled capsule endoscopy (MCCE) to improve how we examine the esophagus and stomach before looking at the small intestine. The researchers want to find out if changing how patients swallow the capsule can help doctors see more clearly during the procedure, especially at a specific area known as the Z-line. This study is open to all adults aged 65 to 74 who are scheduled for a small bowel capsule endoscopy.
To participate, you should be referred for this procedure, but you won’t be eligible if you have certain conditions like strictures in the gastrointestinal tract, previous surgeries involving the bowel, difficulty swallowing, dementia, or if you have a device like a cardioverter defibrillator. During the trial, participants will swallow a small capsule that takes pictures of the esophagus and stomach, which the doctors will then review to gather important information about your health. This trial is currently recruiting participants, so if you meet the criteria, you may have the chance to contribute to advancing this exciting new technology!
