ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is investigating how an exercise program can help patients who have undergone surgery for Chiari Type 1 Malformation, a condition where brain tissue extends into the spinal canal. The study will take place at Hacettepe University and aims to determine the effects of exercise on pain, balance, coordination, and overall quality of life in these patients. Participants will be divided into two groups: one will start an exercise program for six weeks, while the other group will not participate in any exercise during this time. After six weeks, both groups will be assessed, and then the second group will also engage in the exercise program.

To be eligible for this study, participants must be aged 18 to 65 and diagnosed with Chiari Type 1 Malformation, requiring surgery for treatment. Those with other significant neurological conditions, severe cognitive issues, or prior orthopedic surgeries will not be included. Throughout the trial, participants can expect regular assessments to measure their pain levels, balance, coordination, and daily living abilities, helping researchers understand how exercise might improve their recovery and quality of life.
