ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the connection between chronic low back pain (LBP) and a condition called hyperventilation, which is when someone breathes very quickly or deeply. Researchers want to find out if people with ongoing low back pain also have issues with their breathing, particularly if their breathing leads to lower levels of carbon dioxide in their bodies. They will also explore whether emotional and social factors play a role in this connection. Additionally, the study will investigate if problems with breathing are linked to difficulties in maintaining good posture, especially how the diaphragm (a muscle important for breathing) contributes to posture control.
To participate in this trial, individuals must have chronic low back pain that has lasted for more than 12 weeks, as diagnosed by a doctor. Healthy volunteers without back pain are also welcome. Some people may not be eligible, such as those who have had spinal surgery, certain lung diseases, or major psychiatric conditions. Participants can expect to undergo assessments related to their pain and breathing, and their involvement will help researchers better understand these conditions to improve treatment options in the future.
