ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "A Cardiac Disease Quality of Life Study," is looking at how certain heart conditions affect the quality of life for patients. Specifically, it focuses on adults who have hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (a condition where the heart muscle is abnormally thick), thoracic aortic dilatation (widening of the aorta in the chest), or heart disease caused by radiation therapy. The study aims to gather information about these patients' experiences and challenges, especially since many of them cannot undergo surgery to treat their conditions.
To participate, individuals must be between 18 and 70 years old and have a confirmed diagnosis of one of the conditions mentioned. They should also be receiving care at the Cleveland Clinic and have access to a phone, computer, or tablet with internet to complete follow-up questionnaires. Participants can expect to share their experiences through these questionnaires over time, helping researchers understand how these heart conditions impact daily life. It’s important to note that those who have had or will have surgery for their heart condition in the next nine months cannot join the study.
