ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how well doctors can monitor the pressure in the right side of the heart during and after cardiac surgery. The goal is to find out if more than half of patients undergoing these surgeries show signs of problems with their right ventricle, which is the part of the heart that pumps blood to the lungs. If doctors can identify these issues early, they may be able to provide better care and improve recovery outcomes for patients who might face complications related to right heart function.
To be eligible for this trial, patients must be at least 18 years old and scheduled for cardiac surgery where they will be monitored with a specific type of catheter. However, patients who are having emergency surgery, cannot provide consent, or have certain existing heart conditions will not be included in the study. Participants can expect to have their heart pressure monitored during their hospital stay, allowing researchers to collect important information that could help improve treatment for future patients.
