ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the connection between sleep apnea and certain blood disorders known as monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) and multiple myeloma (MM). Researchers want to understand how these conditions, which affect plasma cells in the bone marrow, might relate to sleep apnea, a condition that causes breathing problems during sleep. Patients who have been diagnosed with MGUS or MM and are scheduled to have a bone marrow biopsy as part of their regular treatment can participate in this study.
If you choose to join, you will provide bone marrow samples during your biopsy, which will be done as part of your usual care, minimizing any extra discomfort. The trial is currently looking for participants aged 65 to 74, but it appears there may be some flexibility in age. This study aims to gather important information that could help improve understanding and treatment of these conditions, especially regarding how sleep apnea might affect patients with MGUS and MM.
