ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring how to manage fluid levels in patients undergoing brain surgery, specifically for those dealing with brain swelling (edema). Researchers want to find out whether using special machines to measure heart function, either through direct (invasive) methods or simpler (noninvasive) techniques, helps doctors make better decisions about giving fluids during surgery. This study will compare two ways to measure how much fluid a patient might need based on their heart's response.

To participate in this trial, candidates need to be between 65 and 74 years old, have a Glasgow Coma Scale score of 15 (indicating full consciousness), and be scheduled for brain tumor surgery that lasts up to five hours. They should also be in stable health, classified as ASA I-III. Participants will not be eligible if they have serious heart issues or are significantly overweight. If you join this study, you can expect to receive careful monitoring during your surgery, and the trial aims to improve outcomes for patients like you.
