ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to design braces for teenagers with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, which is a condition that causes a sideways curve in the spine. The trial aims to improve brace treatment by using advanced technology, like artificial intelligence, to create better-fitting braces for patients. This is important because typical braces are often based on personal experience, and there isn't a one-size-fits-all solution for scoliosis. The study is focusing on girls aged 12 to 18 who have a specific range of spinal curvature and are still growing.
To participate, candidates need to have been diagnosed with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and have a spinal curve between 20 to 45 degrees while still having immature bones. They must have already tried a rigid brace for treatment. Participants in the study will likely receive a custom-designed brace and will be monitored closely to see how well it works in managing their condition. This trial could lead to better outcomes for teenagers struggling with scoliosis, helping to reduce the risk of future health problems associated with severe spinal curves.
