ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating new ways to treat central sleep apnea (CSA), a condition where breathing stops intermittently during sleep. CSA is often seen in individuals with heart failure or those taking opioid pain medications. The researchers want to explore the effects of combining different treatments, specifically using a device called positive airway pressure (PAP) along with a medication, to improve breathing patterns during sleep. The goal is to find more effective therapies that can enhance the quality of life for Veterans suffering from this challenging condition.
To participate in this study, you must be a Veteran aged 65 to 74 years who has been diagnosed with central sleep apnea. This means that you experience a high number of breathing interruptions during sleep. However, there are some exclusions, such as being under 18, pregnant, or having certain health conditions that could affect your participation. If you join, you can expect to evaluate the combined therapies and help contribute to future treatments for central sleep apnea. This research aims to provide better care for individuals who currently struggle with existing treatment options.
