ClinConnect Summary

The NEURO-MIROIR 2 clinical trial is studying a new way to help people recover movement in their arms after a stroke. Many stroke survivors experience weakness in one side of their body, known as hemiparesis, which can make it difficult to use their affected arm. This trial is testing a special device called the Intensive Visual Stimulation (IVS) device that uses mirror therapy. By showing an image of the healthy arm moving, the device creates the illusion that the affected arm is moving as well. The goal is to see if practicing many repetitions of arm movements with this device can improve arm function more effectively than standard therapy alone.

To participate in this study, individuals need to be at least 18 years old and have experienced a stroke that caused weakness in one arm, occurring between 4 to 10 weeks prior to joining the trial. They should also have a specific level of difficulty using their wrist and hand. Participants can expect to engage in structured movement exercises with the IVS device while also receiving regular therapy. It is important to note that people with certain cognitive challenges or specific health conditions may not be eligible for the study. This trial is currently looking for participants, and it aims to provide valuable insights into improving rehabilitation after a stroke.
