ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to predict bleeding risks in patients with certain bleeding disorders, specifically von Willebrand disease and Glanzmann Thrombasthenia. Researchers want to see if examining small blood vessels under the tongue using a special video technique can help identify patients who are at a higher risk of bleeding. Currently, there is no easy test to do this, so this study could lead to better care for people with these conditions.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an adult diagnosed with a significant form of von Willebrand disease, Glanzmann Thrombasthenia, or a moderate to severe type of Hemophilia A, or you could be a woman who carries the hemophilia gene. Unfortunately, minors, pregnant women, and those who cannot give consent will not be eligible. If you do join the study, you can expect a non-invasive procedure that involves analyzing blood vessels under your tongue, which could help healthcare providers better understand your bleeding risk. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to improve how patients with these conditions are monitored and treated.
