ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Thoughts and Health," is focused on preventing depression in adolescents by testing a special program in Swedish schools. The program is based on cognitive-behavioral therapy, which helps people understand and change their thoughts and behaviors to improve their mental health. The researchers want to see if this program can help students not only feel better mentally but also do well in school and finish junior high with good grades.
To participate, students need to be in the eighth grade and must be able to understand and complete forms in Swedish. They will first complete a screening questionnaire to check their mood. However, students who have had depression in the past or are currently receiving treatment for it cannot join the study. If eligible, participants can expect to take part in group sessions where they will learn skills to manage their thoughts and emotions better. This trial is recruiting participants now, and everyone, regardless of gender, is welcome to apply.
