ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a condition called Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS), which can occur in pregnancies with identical twins. TTTS happens when one twin gets too much blood and the other gets too little, which can be risky for both babies. The trial is looking at a procedure called controlled amnioreduction (AR), where doctors carefully remove some of the fluid surrounding the babies to help balance their blood flow. They will measure the pressure of the fluid and the amount removed during the procedure, and also check the health of the babies over time.
To participate in this study, women need to be pregnant with twins that have been diagnosed with severe TTTS. However, those with other serious issues, like malformations or genetic problems in the twins, will not be included. Participants can expect to undergo the AR procedure between the 17th and 34th weeks of their pregnancy and will be monitored closely for the health of their babies. The study also aims to assess how the twins are doing as they grow, using questionnaires to evaluate their overall health and development. If you're considering joining this trial, it could provide valuable insights into managing TTTS and improving outcomes for twins.
