ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the impact of a special educational app designed to help patients in the emergency department (ED) better understand and manage their Hepatitis C (HCV) infection. The app aims to provide personalized information about the patient's liver health and offers resources to improve their knowledge about HCV. The goal is to see if using this app can help patients become more aware of their condition, encourage them to seek further medical care, and ultimately improve their treatment outcomes.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 18 years old, have tested positive for Hepatitis C, and currently lack certain medical information about their virus. Patients who are critically ill, unable to understand the study, or under 18 years old cannot participate. Those who join the trial can expect to use the app, which includes various educational tools, and will also take part in discussions to help improve the app. This research is taking place at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, and it aims to make a positive difference in the way patients with Hepatitis C manage their health.
