ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how a virus called BK virus (BKV) affects patients who have received a lung transplant. BKV is a common virus that most people carry, but it can cause problems in those whose immune systems are weakened, like lung transplant recipients. The study aims to find out how often BKV becomes active and if it leads to any health issues in these patients. By learning more about how the body responds to BKV, researchers hope to identify ways to predict and manage any complications that may arise.
To participate in this study, you need to be over 18 years old and have received a lung transplant at Strasbourg University Hospital between June 30, 2018, and December 31, 2022. You also need to be able to provide written consent to take part. The study is not yet recruiting participants, but if you qualify, you will have the opportunity to contribute to important research that could improve the care of future lung transplant patients.
