ClinConnect Summary
The Apple Hearing Study is an exciting research project by the University of Michigan and Apple that aims to understand how sound exposure affects our hearing health over time. The study is looking for adults aged 18 and older who live in the United States and own an iPhone. Participants will need to download the Apple Research app and will be randomly placed into one of two groups: a "Basic" group with standard features, or an "Advanced" group that receives extra information and surveys about their sound exposure from music and the environment.
By measuring how much sound participants are exposed to, the study hopes to learn more about how this impacts both hearing and stress levels. This information could help shape future public health policies to protect hearing health for everyone. If you're interested in participating, all you need is an iPhone with a compatible software version, and you'll be contributing to important research that could benefit many people.
