ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how our memories of pain are formed and how they can be influenced by the events surrounding that pain. Researchers want to understand why some people continue to feel pain long after the actual injury has healed. To do this, they will use virtual reality to recreate situations where participants might have experienced pain, allowing scientists to observe how these memories are triggered and how they affect the body and behavior. The goal is to learn more about the brain's role in remembering pain and how that memory can sometimes lead to ongoing discomfort in people with chronic pain.
To participate in this study, you need to be a healthy adult between the ages of 18 and 50 who can give written consent. There are some important criteria that would exclude you from participating, such as having a history of drug addiction, neurological problems, or chronic pain. If you decide to join, you can expect to engage in activities that involve virtual reality while researchers monitor your reactions. This study is currently recruiting participants, so if you fit the criteria and are interested, you might have the opportunity to contribute to important research that could help improve how we understand and treat pain.
