ClinConnect Summary

The R-IMPAC trial is studying how chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS), a condition that causes long-term inflammation in the nasal and sinus areas, affects the movement of tiny hair-like structures called cilia. These cilia help keep our airways clear by moving mucus and particles out of the nose and sinuses. The researchers will use special fluorescent nanosticks to measure how well the cilia are working in patients with CRS who may need surgery to relieve their symptoms.

To be part of this study, participants should be at least 18 years old and have chronic rhinosinusitis that requires surgery or have other nasal issues that need surgical treatment. It's important that they can understand and speak French, and they should not be pregnant or breastfeeding. Those who choose to participate will need to sign a consent form to confirm their agreement. Since the trial has not started recruiting yet, interested individuals can keep an eye out for updates on how to join once it begins.
