ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying patients in France who have no functioning spleen, a condition known as asplenia. The spleen can be removed due to various reasons such as injury, cancer, or treatments like radiotherapy. People without a spleen face higher risks of serious infections and other health issues. The goal of this study is to understand the complications these patients experience and to develop better ways to monitor their health.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and have asplenia due to reasons like surgical removal or treatment procedures. Unfortunately, individuals with genetic reasons for asplenia, such as sickle cell disease, are not eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to provide information about your health and complications you may have faced, which can help improve care for others in similar situations. The trial is currently looking for participants, so it's a great opportunity to contribute to important research.
