ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain (PPGP) and low back pain, which many pregnant women experience. The researchers want to understand if problems with body awareness in the lower back and certain emotional factors, like fear of movement, anxiety, and depression, affect how well women can maintain balance and whether these issues can lead to ongoing pain during and after pregnancy. The goal is to find better ways to prevent and treat PPGP, especially since some women still have discomfort even ten years after giving birth.

To participate in this study, women must be pregnant with their second child or more, and they should not currently have or have had PPGP during this pregnancy. The trial is looking for women who are between 18 and 45 years old and can speak Dutch. Participants will be asked to provide consent and will be monitored throughout their pregnancy and for a short time after delivery. This study is important as it aims to improve understanding of the causes of PPGP, which can help in developing better treatments in the future.
