ClinConnect Summary
The Swiss Neonatal Network & Follow-Up Group (SwissNeoNet) is a clinical trial aimed at improving the care and safety of high-risk newborns in Switzerland. This study focuses on very low birth weight infants, very preterm infants, and those who have experienced a lack of oxygen at birth (known as asphyxia). The goal is to gather important information that will help healthcare providers deliver better medical care to these vulnerable babies and support their families.
To participate in this study, infants need to meet specific criteria. For example, eligible babies must be born alive in Switzerland and either weigh less than 1501 grams (about 3.3 pounds) or be born before 32 weeks of pregnancy. There are additional criteria for slightly older infants who may have experienced complications during birth. If families choose to participate, they can expect their infants to be part of a coordinated effort to collect important health data, which will help improve treatment and support for future generations of high-risk newborns. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and all genders are welcome.
