ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying whether removing lymph nodes during prostate surgery helps men with intermediate risk prostate cancer. The standard practice at the Martini Clinic is to remove these lymph nodes to check for cancer spread, but this procedure can lead to extra risks like longer surgery time and complications such as swelling or fluid buildup. The trial aims to find out if removing the lymph nodes actually makes a difference in preventing the cancer from coming back, or if it might be safer to skip this step and avoid potential side effects.

To be eligible for the trial, participants should be men aged between 65 and 74 with localized intermediate risk prostate cancer, and they must be scheduled for surgery. Men with certain health issues or those who have received hormone therapy before surgery cannot join. If you participate, you’ll help researchers understand the best approach to treating prostate cancer, which could lead to improved care for future patients.
