ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the effects of two different surgical techniques for treating abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) and how these methods might impact heart health during recovery. Specifically, the trial is comparing open surgery to a less invasive option called endovascular surgery. Researchers want to see if either approach leads to unnoticed heart injuries, which they can track using special tests that check for heart damage and monitor heart activity.

If you are between the ages of 65 and 74 and are scheduled for AAA surgery, you might be eligible to participate in this trial, as long as you don’t have certain serious health issues, like significant heart problems or severe kidney disease. Participants will undergo surgery as planned and will have their heart health monitored throughout the process. This study aims to better understand how these surgical methods affect heart function, which could help improve patient care in the future.
