ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the effects of a web-based exercise program for people who suffer from shoulder pain. The goal is to see if this online approach can help reduce pain and improve function compared to traditional in-person physiotherapy sessions. The trial will involve 184 participants aged 18 to 60 who have been experiencing shoulder pain for at least three months. To qualify, they need to report a pain level of 3 or higher on a simple scale and must own a smartphone that can run the necessary app.

Participants in the study will be randomly placed into two groups: one will use the web-based exercise program, while the other will receive hands-on support from a physiotherapist. Over 12 weeks, both groups will do specific strengthening exercises aimed at improving their shoulder's function. Researchers will measure their progress in terms of pain, disability, and overall satisfaction with the treatment, both during the program and for up to a year afterward. This trial may provide valuable insights into how technology can improve access to effective treatment for shoulder pain, especially for those who find it hard to attend in-person sessions.
