ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a physical exercise program on older adults aged 75 and above who are hospitalized for short stays in a geriatric unit. The main goal is to see if having nursing support or assistance can help these patients be more active and increase their daily number of steps compared to standard care. The researchers also want to look at other benefits, such as changes in physical activity levels, fall occurrences, independence, and travel habits.
To participate, individuals must be at least 75 years old, currently hospitalized in a geriatric short stay, and able to give their consent or have a representative who can. However, those with certain health conditions that might prevent them from exercising safely, or who have a very short hospital stay, will not be eligible. If you or a loved one qualifies, you can expect to engage in a supportive exercise program designed to encourage movement while being monitored by nursing staff. This could help improve overall health and well-being during and after the hospital stay.
