ClinConnect Summary
The DETECT Study is a research project that aims to see if using a smartphone app along with your smartwatch or fitness tracker can help spot early signs of flu-like illnesses or other viral infections. By monitoring changes in your heart rate, activity levels, and sleep patterns, researchers hope to find a way to detect these illnesses before symptoms become serious. The study is currently looking for participants across the United States.
To be eligible, you need to be at least 18 years old and own a smartphone (either Android or iPhone) along with a connected wearable device, such as an Apple Watch or Fitbit. If you join the study, you can expect to use the app to track your health data, which may help improve how we understand and respond to viral infections. This could be a great opportunity to contribute to important health research while using technology you might already have!
