ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new way to manage pain for teenagers with idiopathic scoliosis, a condition where the spine curves in an unusual way. The researchers are testing a technique called "retrolaminar block," which involves using ultrasound to guide a local anesthetic injection that can help reduce pain after surgery. This is important because surgery to correct scoliosis can be very painful, and managing that pain effectively can lead to better recovery and fewer complications.

To participate in this trial, patients must be between the ages of 1 and 18 and have idiopathic adolescent scoliosis that requires surgical correction. However, individuals with bleeding disorders, mental dysfunction, or allergies to local anesthetics cannot take part. If eligible, participants can expect to receive this new pain relief technique during their surgery, which may help lessen their need for stronger pain medications afterward and improve their overall experience during recovery.
